Holve, Brooke: The Or Not

The series reflects a conversation with David Ireland’s work and philosophy on extraction and shaping. Drawn to David’s conceptual and tactile ways of extracting material, Brooke picked up “The Way Things Are”, a catalog of his work, before venturing out to a residency in Ireland. While reviewing it, she discovered a production error; an entire signature of 16 pages was missing. She used this error as an opportunity to engage with his work, mining the catalog for material and content.
