To represent the “in between” in paper, artists worked in the hand-papermaking process to build layers, embed fibers and objects, or create works that express the in-betweenness of life, the world, and paper itself. The works are housed in a a custom-made clamshell box, each in a protective folder imprinted with the artists’ names.

A hand-bound booklet, with letterpress-printed cover, contains statements from the artists, technical details about each piece, and a contextual essay by Frida Baranek.
