Robert Blatt:
How to Read a Book
$185.00
A collection of thirty-six text scores for experimental reading of books. The work explores a range of conceptual strategies, such as transcription and erasure, with realizations intersecting poetry, experimental music, and visual art. Together, they form a survey of experimental reading practices and, in so doing, reveal the often undisclosed performative act of reading itself. The text scores are printed as bookmarks, designed so they may be placed in the book one is reading from during performance. They were letterpress printed with handset Garamond type at Kala Art Institute, Berkeley.
