BOOK FAIR VENUE: HJK Convention Center
The CODEX Foundation is thrilled to announce a brand new venue for the 9th International Biennial Book Art Fair: The Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center ("HJK Convention Center" or "HJK") in Oakland, California. An historic landmark, HJK Convention Center has been host to many important musical, political, and cultural events. You can read more about its history here.
Though we are sad to leave the beautiful scenery of the Craneway Pavilion, we are happy to say that HJK will solve some of our climate issues we've experienced in the past and still offer a spacious venue full of character and charm. With views of Lake Merritt, easy access to BART and other public transit, and directly next door to OMCA (Oakland Museum of California), we feel that the HJK will prove to be a great improvement to our Book Fair and hope to be there for many years to come.
If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We ask that you please be patient with us during this transition period, as this will be an adjustment for everyone involved. We hope you will join us in our excitement as we take this big leap into the future! We look forward to seeing you in February.
